HIGHLIGHT AWARDED 2021 “COMPANIES AS RESPONSIVE EMPLOYERS” (CARE) AWARD FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
October 5, 2021 – Fairfax, VA – Highlight was announced as a 2021 NVFS CARE Award recipient. CARE Awards are awarded to DC Metro Area-based companies with significant commitments to employee engagement—both at work and home—and community service. This win is Highlight’s second consecutive win building on our win in 2019. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 CARE Awards were canceled.
Highlight is firmly committed to supporting its employees and the community. In 2021, Highlight employees participated in four service opportunities that benefitted non-profit organizations as a part of our Highlight Cares Initiative, an effort designed to demonstrate our dedication to community service and employee engagement.
In 2021, Highlight conducted a Nationwide Virtual Food Drive, Environmental Service Competition, Back to School Drive, and will hold a Holiday Gift Drive at the end of the year. The food drive resulted in employees donating $1526 items to food banks across the nation, and Highlight donating $10,000 to Feeding America. The Environmental Service competition resulted in over 100 hours of clean-up, wildlife and nature tending, and implementation of more sustainable practices, and 1000 tree donations to One Tree Planted. In our third initiative, Sweat for the Vets, our team competed in mileage and 5k competition and ran a t-shirt campaign, resulting in $6787 donated to benefit The Mission Continues. The Highlight Cares Back-To-School-Drive helping Women Giving Back resulted in $835 employee donations, countless school supplies, and a corporate donation of $2000. Highlight will conduct our fifth initiative at the end of the year.
Highlight is dedicated to providing rewarding careers through impactful projects and competitive benefits designed to support its employees in their work and home lives. Highlight offers a variety of opportunities to grow professionally, such as leadership and career development programs. When it’s time to play, Highlight prioritizes times to build community within the company, with its Special Interest Groups within the Highlight internal communication channels or its launch parties for significant events or projects, such as Spirit Week!
“It’s an honor to be recognized with a CARE Award for the second year in a row. I’m proud of our entire Highlight team for their hard work, creativity, and generosity in developing and supporting our community service and employee support and recognition programs. Thank you to NVFS and the Highlight team for this recognition!” said Rebecca Andino, CEO of Highlight.
