Highlight Receives Direct-to-Phase II SBIR Grant to support the United States Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX

Fairfax, VA – Highlight announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR Direct-to-Phase II contract in the amount of over $1 million dollars focused on developing the pilot program for access to applications and data on mobile devices at the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) level to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018, which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded. As of February 10^th, Highlight has started its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.

Highlight, Teamed with Patriot, Awarded SBA IT Service Center 2.0 Contract

Fairfax, VA – Highlight, alongside our partner Patriot LLC (Patriot), has been awarded the IT Service Center (ITSC) 2.0 consolidation contract to support the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The contract consists of a 12-month base period with four (4) option years, resulting in an estimated contract value of $49 million.

The SBA OCIO is responsible for delivering IT services and managing the day-to-day IT service desk operations, including the agency’s enterprise IT general support system and data centers, consisting of ≥10,000 end users, six (6) major operating centers and 70 regional offices throughout the United States territories, one major call center, and multiple cloud-based services environments. The consolidation creates an integrated help desk and NOC function to streamline the management of SBA’s critical infrastructure and support services while improving delivery to the end users. The increase in the number of end users within the agency requires support from an experienced managed services provider with expertise in implementing customer experience (CX) improvements while understanding the overarching mission of SBA to “help Americans start, grow, and build resilient businesses.”

Mr. Eselgoth is an accomplished technology and innovation leader with over 28 years of experience driving digital transformation and organizational change. Mr. Eselgoth joins Highlight from RIVA Solutions as VP of Data & Analytics and Chief Data Officer, where he led the corporate data and analytics vision. Fairfax, VA — Great Place To Work® and PEOPLE magazine have honored Highlight as one of the 2023 PEOPLE Companies That Care®. This is Highlight’s 1st time being named to this prestigious list, this year coming in at No. 35 and being the only 100% federal government-focused provider named in 2023. Earning a spot means that Highlight has surpassed rigorous benchmarks, establishing itself as one of the best companies to work for in the country.

The PEOPLE Companies That Care list is based on over 1.3 million employee survey responses and data from companies representing the experience of more than 7.5 million employees. Of those surveys, 1.1 million came from employees at companies eligible for this year’s list and these rankings are based on that feedback.

Companies also submit essays that are validated by employee survey data to give a complete picture of the way an organization cares for its employees, its community, and the planet. To be considered for the list, companies must be Great Place To Work Certified and have at least 10 U.S. employees.
